Aisha is an award-winning playwright, actress and film-maker.

Currently on her fifth of nine lives, she lives in Los Angeles.

One: A Croydon-based youth on the outskirts of London. Ask no questions you’ll receive no lies.

Two: A semi-professional dancer through university. Troubled? Self-absorbed? Annoying? Ding ding ding!

Three: A real life lawyer! Courtrooms and Contracts and C****, oh my.
*Spoiler alert: this relationship did not work out.

Four: A stage and television actor. With a new name, no less. To hide from the other lawyers? Maaaaybe …

Five: A portfolio freelancer in LA, business-founder, film-maker. What’s next, chickadee?

Listen, Aisha considers herself very lucky to have a great funny bone and an even greater lack of any sense of embarrassment. You might say the two go hand in hand. Especially when laughing at her own jokes. In public.

She’s happy to be on this big colourful disco ball we call Earth Home, enjoying the ride, excited to see what Six will bring.

She’s discombobulated by the paradox of having 100% normcore insides and succumbing to writing about herself in the third person i.e. the antithesis of normcore.

She wrote, starred in and toured the rave-reviewed Treya’s Last Dance, then fell foul of an attack of the nerves that lasted a Good Long Time. A powerful yet imaginary Very Long Sword wards off the damn nerves when she catches a whiff of them now. (They carry a smell of old metal held by big meaty hands for too long. Yukso.)

She’s now working on an anthology of darkly comedic (or is it comedically dark?) short films, writing a book of short stories, working on her business and revelling in the unpredictable loops and swoops of life.

The TidBits

She is slightly ashamed of her feet and tries to thank them for everything she put them through most days but forgets to be grateful sometimes when she catches sight of their bare naked selves

She loves to be around other people but not for too long. Never for too long.

She secretly hopes that seven-league boots become a reality in the future. She’ll be first in line.

She hated strip malls when she got to LA and now to her mortification can’t get over how convenient they are.

Eels can ululate and undulate simultaneously. It’s harder than rubbing your tummy and patting your head, for sure.
